The new building, located at the scenery meanders of the Leie river in the Flemish countryside, was constructed as a first family home for a young household of four. During the design process, we started from the idea to pull in the light and the pleasant nature vistas. This is reflected in a calming view of nature from the living to the dining room through large windows and by making modest interior choices that breathe tranquillity.

We opted for natural materials such as chalk paint, parquet and mortex which reflect the natural surroundings, just like the granite kitchen countertops and the wood veneer closets. The owners wanted to create a warm place to come home to after a busy day at work where they could tune in with themselves and with nature. This modern-day sanctuary is the answer to their wishes.
