Set within Orac’s headquarters in Ostend, Aurélie Penneman’s Art Deco salon reimagines the movement not as a historical reference, but as a living design vocabulary. Drawing on Belgian and Viennese influences, the interior unfolds through geometric rhythm, refined proportions and reflective depth, creating a space where heritage feels light, precise and intimate. The result is a contemporary salon with the elegance of a private collector’s study and the clarity of a modern showroom.

Orac’s architectural mouldings are given a new role, no longer simply decorative, but structural in effect. A plinth profile appears inverted on the walls, crown mouldings become a luminous ceiling frame, and rhythmic vertical lines evoke the rising-sun motifs so deeply rooted in Art Deco. Warm ivory, deep walnut, smoked brown and celadon green create a palette that feels both timeless and fresh, while the Hungarian point parquet lends the room a soft sense of depth.

A rare 1930s walnut desk anchors the space, surrounded by distinctive pieces: a marble-topped vintage side table, a sculptural Czech pendant light, linen-wrapped lamps on elegant pedestals, and mirrored ceiling details that catch the eye with subtle drama. Every gesture feels considered, every detail carries intention. In Penneman’s hands, Art Deco is not revived out of nostalgia, but refined into something softer, sharper and quietly magnetic.
